NUDE WORK:
I saw Carlo in shots by another Austin photographer – Bad John Paul. He wasn’t shy and he was sexy as hell. BJP was an old friend of mine so he connected me with Carlo. I rented a hotel suite had the idea of turning him into a trucker who is having a lonely night off the road. Carlo loved the idea. He brought the wardrobe. I brought the six-pack, whiskey bottle and my camera.
It was a really sexy shoot. Carlo is so easy-going and has no hang-ups whatsoever about nudity. It was amazing working with him in such a unrestricted environment that I decided to only work with uninhibited men going forward. It leveled up my editorial senses and really changed my work.
Lots of favorite shots here but the nude shots on the green chaise are sublime. The b/w butt shot at the bathroom counter with the beer in his hand are a close second.
Afterwards I gave him the room to stay in with his wife who wouldn’t be off work until 2am. So I grabbed us some Whataburger to eat in the room while we watched a crappy movie and chatted for a few hours.
