NUDE WORK:

A house near my neighborhood was marked for demolition. The land had been sold for development. After scoping it out it looked like a great place for a shoot for Alex and his rugged look. He brought the perfect outfit and walked over to the property from my place.

What I didn’t realize was that vandals had made it into the house since I scouted it. They shredded the interior. Shards of glass, splintered wood and exposed nails were everywhere. We ventured into the house but it was just too dangerous at that point so we settled for the doorway to the garage and back door.

It was also the middle of summer and the mosquitos were thick. The nude shots of Alex were taken quickly because he was losing a pint of blood every minute. I sprayed him with repellent and his skin broke out. It took a lot of editing to smooth out his skin color and remove the mosquito bites from his ginger skin.

It wasn’t until we finished shooting that we realized that the back door where Alex was standing buck naked faced the rear windows of an apartment complex. And yes, there were people watching. It was a good thing that I didn’t ask him to do ‘more’ at the door for the camera.

Luckily Alex is a massage therapist in Austin so his calm personality was much appreciated that afternoon.
