I found Saul on Model Mayhem. He was based in Dallas and had worked with quite a few photographers including one my favorites, Mack Sturgis. I love the grit he gave to Saul’s muscle bear look. I decided to show Saul’s softer side.
For this shoot I imagined what it would look like to wake up next to this tan, built and furry gent. When you’re in a relationship, waking up to someone on a Sunday morning is one of the finer moments in life. I didn’t want to get too erotic here but instead let his amazing features speak for themselves in the early light.
I met Saul at a Dallas hotel suite at 8am on a Sunday. I told him to just roll out of bed and come over so we could capture all the nuances of the morning. So the bed head on him is real.
